Episode 77 | Built For Likes Or Built To Last?
This week I have Philip Hall & Ashley Hall on the show to talk about their marriage. Their story isn’t that much different than most stories. They were young and in love, married, had children. But after 12 years of relationship and 9 years of building a family, it all came crashing down. The ending sadly isn’t uncommon either. Everyone has plans for how they want relationships to work out, and they take all of those plans and start building. Building with all the effort an intention to make it work, but unless God build a house, all that labor is in vain. Unless God keeps a house, all the wokeness, all the passcodes to phones, all the home cook meals and romantic spontaneity in the world won’t keep the marriage from falling apart right before your eyes. Letting God build your marriage doesn’t fit on a pic, won’t get a million likes, isn’t peoples idea of #relationshipgoals and won’t get shared or retweeted. I appreciate them sharing their lives and their journey to a marriage that isn’t just built for likes on instagram, but is built to last. There’s something for people who are married and people who aren’t. So enjoy. #realchurchmatters #obedienceoveraudience

Psalm 127 King James Version (KJV)
127 Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.
And Noah builded an altar unto the Lord; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.
Joshua 22:25-27 King James Version (KJV)
25 For the Lord hath made Jordan a border between us and you, ye children of Reuben and children of Gad; ye have no part in the Lord: so shall your children make our children cease from fearing the Lord.
26 Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice:
27 But that it may be a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the Lord before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the Lord.
Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars:
Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.
*How to build
Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:
Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
1 Chronicles 22:5
And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
