Episode 43 is about watching your step.Your phone or watch may tell you how many steps you took today, but do you know how many of them were ordered by God? If they weren’t ordered by God, meaning if you are not following the way—which is Christ. Are you going to heaven? Better yet, do you know where you are going?

Watch Your Step!
You may be in a place where you feel the weight of making a choice. I’m here to tell you today, that for the believer, that choice is easier than you think. You see, you have no choice…the path or let’s say the way has been made for you. This is a thing that’s said with rejoicing, but the reality of knowing a way has been made for you, without your input or opinion, is a tough pill to swallow. Want to make a Christian mad? Tell them they have no choice. Before you get too mad, ask yourself this—if I’m a follower of Christ, where am I following Him to? What I’m asking you to do is ponder the path of your feet.
26 Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure.
Think carefully about where your feet are headed and who is leading them. Once you answer those questions, like the scripture says, you will have assurance of where you are going. Now as a follower of Christ, to know where you are going, you need to know where Jesus is. We can look in the Word and see where He is by where He was going.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.”
5 Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Where was Jesus going? Jesus was going to Heaven to prepare a place for us. Interestingly enough, Jesus said they knew the way to heaven already. We know the way because we know Him, meaning, I know where to go because I follow the one who knows where to go. If you don’t know your way in life, it’s because you are looking for directions to follow instead of following Christ.
12 Who is the man who fears the Lord? Him will he instruct in the way that he should choose.
In a world where so many believe in God, not many fear Him, we know they don’t because they allow Him to instruct their way. Matter of fact, they let everyone except God’s where instruct, guide, direct, lead and order their steps. Conferences, seminars, and life coaches galore— every one wants to know the way—but no one wants to know Christ.
23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
Your phone or watch may tell you how many steps you took today, but do you know how many of them were ordered by God? If they weren’t ordered by God, meaning if you are not following the way—which is Christ.
1 Peter 2:21
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Are you going to heaven? Better yet, do you know where you are going? Your way might take you to a lot of places, but it won’t take you to heaven because that is a place set aside for those who feet are directed by God. That person—better yet, that good person—delights in this way. As a Christian, you should find pleasure in walking the narrow way of following Christ.
13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. 14 For the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few.
The ordered steps are on the narrow way that leads to life—heaven in eternity AND on earth. The abundant life that people talk about only comes by walking according to the way Jesus walked. That leaves us no room—hence the idea of narrow—for our own opinions, ideologies, and interpretations…just obedience.
10 But these people blaspheme all that they do not understand, and they are destroyed by all that they, like unreasoning animals, understand instinctively. 11 Woe to them! For they walked in the way of Cain and abandoned themselves for the sake of gain to Balaam’s error and perished in Korah’s rebellion.
An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
It’s amazing where we find ourselves when we think we have a choice in what we do and how we do it. We will find ourselves out of the way of God and into the way of the disobedient that have gone before us like Cain. You don’t have to slip, you can let the Word of God order your steps.
2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.
5 My steps have held fast to your paths; my feet have not slipped.
18 Our heart has not turned back, nor have our steps departed from your way;
Their is security in following God’s Word. Step by step it takes us out of the mess we were in and into a better way—a way that leads to life and life more abundantly.
5 O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!
